Profile of Lee Dilkes
The computer programming is the responsibility of Lee Dilkes. Lee joined Transtech Ltd in 1982 as a Student Apprentice. He achieved his B-Tech Diploma in Electrical Engineering in 1986. During his time at the works he was involved in transformer winding, assembly, wiring and test. In 1986 he was moved into Transformer Design and was trained by Ray Birley. He attended courses on computers and developed a simple transformer design program. His main interest was in computers and in 1992 he joined a computer programming company specialising in Unix Systems. This quickly led on to joining Advance Tapes Ltd in their IT Department and became Head of this department in 1997. In 1999 he joined Business Link and was involved with computer system solutions for small business companies. He is a leading principal of RB Designs albeit in a Part Time capacity. He is responsible for writing the programs for the computer software package and, along with Ray Birley, has produced a design system that, although complex with sophisticated logic 'thinking' loops, is a very "User Friendly" program. There is an equivalent of over forty years of transformer design experience built into the software and the program has enabled many users to complete design studies and give their customers a quick reponse to their enquiries..
